Our intuitive guidance can come to us in many different forms.
Reoccurring Thoughts
One way guidance can occur is through reoccurring thoughts. Many times these thoughts are loud, insistent, or repetitive. However, they can also be quiet and subtle, and therefore, easily missed if we fail to pay attention. On the other hand, even loud thoughts can be missed when we fail to give them proper acknowledgement or attention, or even dismiss them altogether!
Inner Urges
Another form guidance can take is through our inner urges. For example, when we feel like we really want to, or must do something, which is why it’s important to pay attention to those strong urges we get. This could even include things like taking up a new hobby or activity. As a personal example, just the other day I had a strong urge that seemed to come out of nowhere to do a tarot card reading. I was at work and thought to myself maybe I will do one after work. I then turned my attention back to what I was doing. A short while later while sitting at my desk, I received a second strong urge to do a tarot card reading.
After being hit with that strong sensation (twice) I recognized the urges I was receiving as my intuition, or in other words, inner guidance, speaking to me. So I stopped what I was doing and took a moment to mentally acknowledge the guidance (which is important to do), and I told myself I would do a tarot card reading when I got home from work. When I arrived home later that day, I did a tarot card reading and I received some substantial information. I was very glad to have listened to my higher guidance.
Feelings
Another form intuition can take is feelings, and this can relate to people, places, and things. For example, after being around a particular person you may feel tired, unhappy, or uncomfortable. Or on the other hand, the feelings could be positive, and after being around a particular person you may feel happy, energized, or peaceful. The same is true for places. Being at a certain place, event, or in a certain environment may feel uncomfortable to the point internal alarm bells start going off. In this type of scenario, listen to your guidance and leave. That’s what it is there for, to guide you.
The more you pay attention, the better you will become at recognizing the guidance and messages you receive.
Remember that it is very important to acknowledge the guidance you receive. By dismissing your guidance you are telling yourself that it is somehow wrong, and you are also not trusting yourself.
By acknowledging your inner guidance and following it, you are being true to yourself, honoring yourself, and following your personal path.
