Energy healing is one of my favorite intuitive modalities to practice, and is a topic I find fascinating. There are various forms of energy healing techniques. One of the more common and well known types of energy healing I tend to see today is Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key). Several years ago I obtained a Reiki Master certification. I also used to attend a Reiki meetup group where we all practiced on each other. It one of the best ways to gain hands on experience, because I was able to work with the energy fields of so many different people.
It allowed me to gain a greater awareness and understanding of how I sense, experience, and work with energy. I also practice on myself, my dog, family, friends, and plants 🙂 I have a Reiki/massage table which helps because having it set up in my home causes me to utilize it, even if it’s just on myself. While Reiki utilizes various symbols, personally, I have never been drawn to the symbols used in Reiki. Rather, when doing energy healing I set my intention and allow the energy to flow through me. Some of the most intuitive experiences I have had have been while giving and receiving energy healing.
For example, I have received “downloads,” which is my personal term to describe what feels like a flow of positive affirmations that I say in my mind to the person I am working on. The positive affirmations seem to flow in from somewhere beyond me. While doing energy healing I have had a variety of experiences such as receiving images, subtle messages, words, and I have been able to feel the differences in peoples energy (such as bouncy, smooth, warm, cool, etc).
I also enjoy going to various energy healing practitioners for self healing and improvement. I’ve had a form of energy healing called theta healing done by three different practitioners. The first time I ever had it done I was at a small event called a “psychic playground” in San Diego. At this event there were different types of intuitive practitioners, and attendees got to sign up to meet with a few different people for about 15 minute mini-sessions with each person.
The practitioner who did theta healing described the energy healing modality as being like peeling back layers of an onion, and as she described it I could feel the texture (energetically) of what she was talking about.
The second person I had a theta healing session with consulted her guides (loving energies) and mine, and asked to pull certain things from my energy field that were no longer serving me, and I gave her permission to do so. The miraculous thing about it was that stomach issues I’d been having for awhile began to noticeably clear up in the following weeks and I knew the events were related.
After meeting with another theta healing practitioner my reactions varied from my previous experiences. I started crying out of nowhere, and I recalled memories I had forgotten, like a troll collection I had when I was a kid, and how the trolls were neatly aligned in rows on an old shelf in my childhood bedroom!
There are many different modalities recognized modalities of energy healing, all with the common goal of working on healing the individual. It should also be considered that energy healing will vary by practitioner (even if the same modalities are used) because each person giving an energy healing is a unique individual, and that is bound to be reflected in their healing practice.
I can confidently say that every time I’ve had an energy healing session I always feel better and more rejuvenated afterwards. I highly recommend exploring the topic of energy healing further if this is something that interests you!
