Using Energy Work to Improve Difficult Situations

Earlier this past year, I received a letter in the mail from a health insurance agency stating they needed a specific document from me. I had insurance but the letter was worded that a document (which I didn’t have because it didn’t apply to me) was needed or my insurance could be canceled. I received two notices like that in the mail.

I found it somewhat annoying and frustrating and began to dwell on it. But in the center of my being I sensed it would all work out—somehow. It was just the inconvenience of having to deal with it, that was bothering me.

Here’s How I Approached A Difficult Situation

I knew that I could influence the outcome, and this made all the difference.

First, I paid attention to the feelings I was experiencing, because awareness is key (to everything).

Next I meditated, which was me making the choice to do something about it. In meditation I examined my thoughts, and thought about the person I had to call (whose name was on the letter), and how she was just a person with a job that was probably difficult due to the nature of dealing with people. I’ve been there.

I knew it wasn’t about the person I’d be calling and I didn’t want to be rude to that person (because then they might take that in and it could affect how they interacted with others, or make them feel bad, and they already had a difficult job I imagined). So I became clear that making someone else feel bad wasn’t my intention at all. It’s good to just get clear on what you are and are not trying to do.

I was also aware that I wasn’t going to stand for being thwarted in any way from my health insurance. That health insurance was already mine and I was going to keep it. That I was clear about and sure of. My energy was in line with that feeling. It was not negotiable, and I truly felt that.

While in meditation, I said I’m willing to learn whatever lesson needs to be learned, but I ask, and it’s my intention that this occur in the best feeling way possible for all. This situation can be navigated and feel good.

Next, I saw a big red “APPROVED” stamp being stamped on my health insurance form. I also imagined my information on a computer screen with the approved box being checked with an “X” next to it, indicating that it had been approved. I further imagined my paperwork being placed in the pile where all the papers that had been approved were located.

During the meditation I worked with my energy and imagination until I felt a literal shift in my energy occur, and I began to feel a really good feeling vibration. This will happen in meditation. Notice when that literal shift in your energy occurs and you begin to feel really good.

I asked that I would be shown how to navigate the situation, and also intended that I would be shown.

I asked to be given the thoughts to navigate that situation, such as what would a person who knows how to navigate this smoothly think? How would they feel? Then I would tune in to those thoughts and feelings. This made me feel better because now I knew I was being energetically supported. I continued to play with the energy by asking questions like what is this energy really about? Then I’d notice what I thought, felt, and what visuals came to mind.

Also, like many people I don’t enjoy confrontation or look forward to uncomfortable conversations. Just the word confrontation seems to spark anxiety. So we can reframe the situation. This isn’t a confrontation. What it is, is two players in a dance of sorts, or in a play. The script was: I received that letter in the mail stating information was needed from me. That was the invitation. I was then able to choose how I responded. It could be fun, relaxed, and so on.

The point is, if we can reframe our perspective then the energy of the (future) situation is influenced by that vibration, and takes on characteristics of that vibration.

When we wind it down, it’s never really about the situation itself. That is just a script that we’re acting out, like a play. What it’s really about is the energy present. What energy is at play in that situation? When have you felt that same energy before? What does it remind you of? Notice your thoughts, impressions, and feelings about it. They will guide you to unwind it as you sit with it (such as in mediation).

And finally, spoiler alert, everything at its root, at its source is love. So when we’re unwrapping the energy of any situation, as we unwind it we will eventually find our way back to love.

In conclusion, for those who are wondering, I sent a letter to the insurance agency and everything resolved smoothly and turned out well!
